The word sign is used throughout scripture. It’s states we are to careful to keep all the commandments. Obviously, mankind is sinful and will break them at times. This would be considered sin. We are to repent, turn from breaking them and return to keeping them.
But check this out. Deut states the commandment are to be a sign on our frontal of your forehead and on your right hand.
Exodus says keeping the sabbath is a sign you belong to him.
The Hebrew word meaning for sign is :
sign, signal
A. a distinguishing mark
B. banner
C. remembrance
D. miraculous sign
E. omen
F.
warning
token, ensign, standard, miracle, proof
Oh but wait, that word H226 ‘ot’ , is from root word H225.
It’s meaning is CONSENT/AGREE
SO, sign is a distinguishing mark, on the forehead and hand, Yahweh marks his ppl, who keep the sabbath with a mark.
And the mark has a meaning formed from CONSENT/AGREE.
i see the connection that to carry the mark on your forehead/ hand means you must consent to and agree with keeping the commandments and keeping the sabbath.
There are MANY who do not consent to and agree with keeping those 2 things.
We’re not talking about non-believers, I’m referring to the churches of America.
It’s one thing to just not murder or steal, but it’s another thing to know we’re are commanded to keep the Torah of Yah, and come into a place in your heart where you CONSENT TO THE TORAH, and AGREE TO FOLLOWING all it says.
Will we stumble? Yes! do we continue on that path? No! We repent and continue following.
Consenting to and agreeing with the Torah( commandment ), His placing a mark on our foreheads and on our hands! And Yahweh is using that mark to distinguish who is his.
You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. For if you are careful to keep all this commandment which I am commanding you to do, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and hold fast to Him,”
Deuteronomy 11:18, 22
““But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. Therefore you are to observe the sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death. So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.’ It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.””
