WORDS KILL, WORDS GIVE LIFE; THEY’RE EITHER
POISON OR FRUIT – YOU CHOOSE.
————————————–
If you get emotional or triggered by the fact that people always have an opposing side to every view you have, then you shouldn’t be using the internet. The best way to interact with people and have productful and civil conversations is to realize that there is always something more to be learned from every side.
Although there are many trolls and just straight up hateful people on social media and in life, most people actually have something valuable to say and we shouldn’t always assume that they are just hateful or delusional because they disagree with our position…and if people are just trying to be contentious or are being foolish and arrogant, the smartest thing you can do is just stay silent.
I have found through many conversations that the majority of people just long to be heard in a world where it’s very difficult to get anybody to listen…and if you actually take the time to lend someone your ear, you can always learn something new or maybe see some piece of the puzzle you were previously missing or gain a new perspective you had not thought of and possibly even make a new friend.
Approaching conversations with love and peace is also the best way to be successful in changing another persons mind and planting seeds. In reality, we all have a lot more in common than you think.
The main problem with social media is that everybody is so quick to judge and make enemies…We should all strive harder to show the fruit of the spirit through our conversations.
